The Farmhouse is in the middle of a small-holding called The Dairy Plot. It is a busy place. Tempe keeps a few dairy cows, four ponies, a flock of sheep, geese and poultry. She often has a couple of pigs fattening up too. They will eat all your kitchen scraps. There are three cats living by the dairy and two puppies. Often there is a bottle-fed lamb too, and cats, puppies and lamb all wait for their share of the milk every morning. At half past seven every morning Tempe sells milk from the dairy at 75 cents a litre (customers bring their own bottles). Saul and Mildred, two of Tempe’s workers, also live on the property. They look after the animals and maintain a very productive organic vegetable garden. If you would like, Tempe will sell you delicious vegetables in season.
Children will delight in all the animals and learn a lot from watching the farming activities going on. Tempe will be happy to take them horse riding and give them riding lessons if required. She charges three dollars for a half hour ride, five dollars for an hour.
